Transformers play a critical role in electrical systems, and their installation requires careful planning and execution. The process begins with a site survey to assess location, access, and foundation requirements. A concrete pad or steel structure is prepared to provide a stable, level base for the transformer. The transformer is then carefully transported to the site and positioned using cranes or specialized moving equipment. Electrical connections are made, including high-voltage (HT) and low-voltage (LT) cables, followed by the connection of earthing systems for safety. After all connections are securely fastened and inspected, the transformer is filled with oil (for oil-filled types), and a series of pre-commissioning tests are performed to ensure proper functioning. Only after these tests are successfully completed is the transformer energized and brought into service.
