An Earth Pit is an enclosure, typically buried underground, that houses the Earth electrode and its connections. It provides a convenient and safe point of access for inspection, testing (e.g., measuring earth resistance), and maintenance of the Earthing system. Without a proper Earth pPt, the critical connection to the Earth would be exposed to environmental damage and difficult to access for necessary checks.
