An Earth Pit (also known as an Earth Pit chamber or inspection Pit) is an enclosure or chamber that serves as a protective housing and access point for the Earth electrode connection in an electrical Earthing system. The Earthing system itself is a critical safety measure that provides a low-resistance path for fault currents (like those from a lightning strike, short circuit, or static electricity) to safely dissipate into the ground.
