An Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) Panel is a sophisticated control system designed to manage power supply transitions automatically. It's a key component in backup power systems, ensuring an uninterrupted supply to essential loads. The manufacturing process involves integrating several critical components within a sturdy metal enclosure. The core of the panel is the microprocessor-based AMF controller, which continuously monitors the main power supply for voltage fluctuations or complete failure. When a power outage is detected, the controller sends a signal to a backup generator to start. Once the generator reaches the correct voltage and frequency, a motorized or contactor-based Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) safely transfers the electrical load from the mains to the generator. When the main power is restored, the panel reverses this process, switching the load back to the mains and shutting down the generator after a cooling period. This automated sequence eliminates the need for manual intervention, preventing downtime and protecting sensitive equipment.
